hello again

well the long awaited bundle of joy arrived six days late back in January. We got a pink one and were very happy :-) Labour was fantastic, very quick and apart from a few issues with compound presentation and meconium in the waters everything went very well and was all over with in less than 6 hours. We were only in hospital for 2 hours before she was born :-) Preston hospital was fantastic and I can't complain at all about the service we received.

The big noisy one quite likes his little sister and loves to hold her and cuddle her, although from where I am sitting it looks rather like the lion cubs playing on wildlife programmes! Baby K is now 20 weeks and growing fast.

Recently we've been coping with a diagnosis of CDH (congenital hip dysplasia)and from 10 weeks old baby K has been in a pavlik harness :-(

It's been hard to deal with, the emotions came from nowhere and I've never been more upset in my whole life. I cried pretty much non stop for 48 hours. Nothing makes it better. At least she seems to be okay with it.

We are now on countdown to 4th July when hopefully little missy will only have to wear it for 12 hours a day. More about coping with it soon but in the meantime peace is about to be shattered as we have to pick up the noisy one from nursery.

Promise to be back sooner this time xxx

Happy New Year

Well we've been absent for a very long time. In that time I have managed to grow a baby to what feels like enormous proportions and very soon I will have to push it out. Hmm let's not think too much into the last bit shall we.

Anyway now at 38 weeks and a very grumpy stage of pregnancy number 2! Here are my witterings and moans for you lovely people to read:

To my relatives who we saw at Mum's Christmas gathering - Why will you only come and visit me when I've had my baby - am I not worthy of a visit at any other time?? Come to think of it why haven't you come to visit since I had my last baby? We've been to see you!

To my Mum - I don't want any "help" witht he baby when the baby comes - I want to be left alone in peace to cope with it all myself and adjust me & little man into our new routine/way of life. If you must come you can help with housework.

To my Dad - Yes I am going to breastfeed again and for as long as we feel necessary and no matter how many times you say the immortal " we've seen it all before" phrase you have NOT seen my breasts before and you won't be seeing them now!!

To everyone who keep asking - Do you know what you're having? Yes - a baby.

To starngers who view pregnancy as an excuse to talk to you in the doctors/supermarket/car parks/shops - I don't really care how your labour went as mine will be completely different. Also my baby will come when it's ready not early just because yours was early!

I really HATE snow and ice and am so so glad it's all gone. No more please.

To little man - no I can't bend down and play that game because it just hurts too much! Sorry!

How long have you got left? Too long

When are you due? Not soon enough!!

We will be feeling happier soon I'm sure - Oh hang on a minute DH goes back to work tomorrow and I'm on my own until the 1st contraction!! ARGGHHH!!!!!!
